1. How far in advance should I schedule my move?
As much notice as possible, especially during the busy seasons, May – Sept. Usually 2-3 weeks is good enough.
2. Do I need extra insurance for my move?
It is about 50/50 whether a customer purchases add’l insurance. One thing to consider is how much your items are worth.
3. What packing options are available for my move?
You are able to pack your own boxes or hire us to professionally pack your items. We will bring out materials and properly protect all your precious items (add’l cost).
4. How can I be better prepared for move day?
Have all boxes packed and sealed. Make sure there are clear walkways. If possible, have beds, tables, mirrors off dressers disconnected. This will help save money on a local move.
5. How can I look up information on a moving company?
In Pennsylvania, you can check HHG_Operators.pdf . You can also check the company’s rating on the Better Business Bureau’s website.
6. How can I save money on a local move?
This goes hand in hand with being better prepared. Everything that isn’t furniture should be packed in boxes or totes. Boxes should be sealed on top and bottom. Movers are not allowed to disconnect washers/dryers/refrigerators etc. They should be disconnected before arrival. If you live in a City, reserve a parking permit for easy access.
7. What does Superior do to sanitize trucks and equipment?
First of all, we will not move anything that shows evidence of rodents or bugs. Secondly, we have accounts that require regular sanitization of trucks and everything on it so you don’t have to worry about your items.
